Cyprus Village Halloumi Cheese

Regular customers may notice our Cyprus Village halloumi cheese looks a little different these days, and they'd be right! In order to avoid a price increase to you, we found a new supplier for this batch.
First you'll notice we updated the packaging, so it looks a little different - and there's far less unneccesary plastic.
You'll see there's more brine in the bag. The brine is present simply to help preserve it for longer, but you'll drain it before cooking anyway.
The shape of the cheese is slightly different, in that it's chunkier than the previous version.
Other than that you should find it's just as good as you've come to expect from us. It's handmade exactly the same way with 100% goats milk, and still cooks beautifully in the pan, grill or on the barbecue.
We realise people don't like change when they find a great product, but don't worry! We tried lots of different halloumi makers before making our choice. They are a PDO certified cheesemaker based in Larnaca who specialise in halloumi cheese. So you're still getting the best.
And soon, we'll be giving you a choice of halloumi as we'll have a goat & sheep milk variety from the same producer for you to try...watch this space for news on that soon.

What a cool and mouthwatering post! Authentic Cypriot halloumi, made according to traditional recipes in small villages, is a culinary delight all its own—nothing else compares, especially when it’s grilled to a golden brown. By the way, lots of small, authentic shops and cheese shops are opening up in the UK right now, and that’s awesome. That said, the food industry always faces the pressing issue of disposing of specific waste and packaging. We solved this problem for our food spot using the service https://affordablewastemanagement.co.uk/. They’ve completely taken care of the bio-waste issue—the bins are clean, there’s no smell, so we can focus on the delicious food. And do you buy halloumi made from goat’s or cow’s milk?
Larnaca is my ancestral home town, and they know their halloumi! :) Thank you for the explanation and for everything you do!
